Vermont Restricts Access to Social Media Accounts

Compliance UpdateVermont is the latest state to restrict employers’ access to/use of the social media accounts of their applicants and employees.

Employers may not require, request or coerce an employee or applicant to disclose a username or password, access their account in front of the employer, divulge any content, change the privacy settings to increase third-party access to their content, or add an employer’s agent to their list of contacts.

Visit our Compliance Hub to learn more about the law and what it means to your business.
