Integration 2018-03-09T12:17:57+00:00

The vast majority of GIS clients utilize an integration to access our services. Our systems were designed with the flexibility to integrate with ATS, HRIS, ERP and client-proprietary systems of all types. We have standard integrations in place with many of the best-known systems, some of whom are listed below.

Our integrations typically boast seamless ordering from the ATS/HRIS and easy access into our background screening platform to allow clients to easily order and retrieve reports.

Integration Methods

GIS has a long history of providing integration solutions for our clients to ensure operations are as efficient and effective as possible. Our systems were designed to be secure with transaction integrity while being flexible enough to integrate with ATS, HRIS, ERP and client-proprietary systems of all types.

We support secure exchange of request/response data exchange via Batch or Real-Time.

Batch

The Batch methods are intended for bulk ordering using data extracted from the client’s systems.

Manual

The manual process is initiated by a central user logging into a secure site to upload files to order background checks. Once the file is uploaded, the rest of the processing is automated at GIS and requires that each uploaded file meets agreed-upon specifications.

Files supported: Excel (.xls or .xlsx), Pipe Delimited Text (.txt or .DAT), Comma Separated Value (.csv)

Security & Encryption: HTTPS via TLS encryption + authentication

Automated

The automated process is automatically initiated, which therefore requires the client’s IT team to set up scripting to provide the data in the agreed upon format.

Transports supported: SFTP/FTP

Security & Encryption: PGP + authentication

Real-Time

The Real-Time methods are intended to be used during a standard hiring process in which each request is sent separately when a background check is initiated within a third-party system (either automatically or by a recruiter).

Web Services

In the Web Services model, the system that initiates the request generates an XML order that is sent to the GIS system. GIS’ system acknowledges and pushes summary results to the other system, which would then update the client.

XML formats supported: GIS eQuest+ XML and HR-XML v2.5 (open consortium based standard).

Security & Encryption: HTTPS via TLS encryption + authentication
