  • Health Care Plan
    Southeastern Freight Lines offers a valuable health care package which includes medical, dental, vision and prescription drug benefits for associates and their families. The health care package is designed to help you and your family stay healthy by offering several wellness benefits. In addition, the plan protects you and your family from high medical expenses associated with serious illness. Our managed care network enables associates to find quality, cost-efficient physicians, with a majority of your medical and prescription costs covered by SEFL.

  • Employee Assistance Program
    Southeastern Freight Lines offers free and confidential assistance to associates in need though our REACH EAP program. Trained counselors are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to help associates and their dependents deal with marital & family relations problems; substance abuse; addictive behaviors; credit counseling; emotional problems; stress management.
  • Short-Term Disability Benefit
    Southeastern Freight Lines’ STD plan is a company-paid benefit that is designed to help provide associates with partial replacement of income due to a non-work related illness or injury. Associates on STD are paid 50% of their weekly base pay income up to $474/week. Payment continues for up to 26 weeks or until you are no longer disabled, whichever is first.
  • Long-Term Disability
    Southeastern Freight Lines’ LTD plan is a company-paid benefit that is designed to help provide associates with replacement income in the event that they are disabled for more than 26 weeks. The monthly benefit can be up to 50% of your monthly base pay, to a maximum of $5,000/month. Payment may continue for up to 5 years, or to the age of 65, whichever is first.
  • Basic Life & Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance
    Southeastern Freight Lines provides company paid life insurance for all full-time associates.
  • Optional Voluntary Life Insurance
    Associates may elect to purchase additional coverage at an additional cost based upon age, up to $250,000. Supplemental Life Insurance is also available for a spouse or dependent.
  • Retirement Savings Program
    The Southeastern Freight Lines Retirement Savings Program is designed to help you prepare for your retirement. The program does so in three ways:
    . through your own contributions,
    . through company matching contributions, and
    . through discretionary company contributions made to the program on your behalf.

    You may save 1-50% of your income before taxes. The company matches 50% of the first 4% you contribute. Associates can choose investment options from numerous investment funds.

    In addition to matching a portion of your personal contribution, Southeastern may also make a discretionary contribution to the Retirement Savings Program. The amount of this contribution may vary from year to year. To receive the Retirement Contribution, you must be employed on December 31 and have worked and been paid for at least 1,000 hours during that year.

  • Flexible Spending Accounts (Health Care & Dependent Day Care)
    Southeastern Freight Lines offers flexible spending accounts that allow associates to set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for medical/dental and day care expenses.
  • Vacation Pay
    Southeastern Freight Lines provides associates with vacation time based on years of service.

  • Holiday Pay
    Southeastern Freight Lines recognizes 8 paid holidays annually.
  • Sick Day Pay
    Southeastern Freight Lines provides associates with 3 sick days annually.
  • Jury Duty Pay
    Southeastern Freight Lines will pay the difference between the jury duty pay and the pay an associate would have received at SEFL if they are assigned to jury duty.
  • Bereavement Pay
    Southeastern Freight Lines provides associates with two days off with pay when the death of an immediate family member occurs.
  • Educational Assistance
    Southeastern Freight Lines provides educational assistance to those associates who have been employed full-time for 1 year or more.
